Piwi Smoll was born into a life steeped in music and merriment. His father, a charismatic half-elf, ran a bustling tavern where laughter flowed as freely as ale. His mother, a gifted halfling singer, filled the air with melodies that could soothe the most troubled soul. From them, Piwi inherited both a love for storytelling and a knack for charming a crowd.
Despite his artistic roots, Piwi sought a more “respectable” path and became a court reporter in the city’s judicial halls. His sharp memory and quick hands made him indispensable for recording testimony and rulings. For years, Piwi believed in the sanctity of law—until the day he stumbled upon a truth that shattered his faith.
During a high-profile trial, a goblin named Beeblegripp was accused of theft and sentenced to life in a brutal labor camp. But Piwi noticed something wrong: the judge had altered the official record, twisting testimony to ensure conviction. Outraged, Piwi tried to restore the original statements, but his efforts were discovered. Dragged before the same corrupt system he once served, Piwi was given a choice: look the other way or rot in a cell for tampering with court records.
Piwi chose neither. Instead, he vowed to bring justice to Beeblegripp and expose the rot festering in the courts. He fled the city, trading his ink-stained quill for a lute and his legal jargon for ballads that stirred hearts and opened eyes. Now, Piwi wanders from tavern to tavern, weaving songs of truth and rebellion, gathering allies who share his cause. Behind his easy smile and jaunty tunes lies a burning resolve: to right the wrongs that law refused to mend.
